We are seeking an experienced Freight and Logistics Manager to lead transportation and logistics operations across multiple company locations. This role is responsible for managing freight contracts, supporting carrier selection, developing preferred carrier programs, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective logistics execution. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, vendor management experience, and the ability to partner cross functionally to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Review, analyze, and support negotiation of freight and transportation contracts to secure competitive pricing and favorable service terms
- Evaluate, select, and assist with onboarding domestic and international freight carriers based on cost, performance, and compliance standards
- Develop and maintain preferred carrier lists and standardized pricing structures across all locations
- Coordinate logistics operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods company wide
- Monitor freight costs, service levels, and carrier performance, identifying cost savings and process improvement opportunities
- Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Finance to forecast transportation needs and align logistics strategies with business objectives
- Ensure compliance with applicable transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies
- Resolve freight related issues including delays, claims, and service disruptions
- Oversee the company’s internal fleet to ensure efficient utilization and alignment with operational needs
- Develop routing standards and delivery models that support scalable growth
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage fleet and equipment leases across all locations
- Partner with Finance to assess lease terms, lifecycle management, and replacement strategies
- Ensure fleet assets are properly maintained and compliant with safety regulations
- Identify opportunities to improve fleet performance through technology and preventative maintenance programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum five years of experience in freight management, logistics, or transportation operations
- Strong knowledge of freight contracts, carrier pricing models, and logistics best practices
- Experience supporting multi-site operations
- Demonstrated analytical, negotiation, and vendor management skills
- Proficiency with transportation management systems and standard business software
- Experience managing preferred carrier programs
- Familiarity with domestic and international shipping regulations
- Experience in a fast paced, growth-oriented environment
- Strategic thinking and cost management
- Strong attention to detail in contract review
- Cross functional collaboration
- Effective problem solving and decision making
Compensation Range for this position: $75,000 - $85,000 annual salary.
