Job Overview
This position is for driving the mobile van as part of the Family Health Centers of San Diego’s programs. The driver transports participants and items to various community locations and performs safety inspections and routine maintenance.
Responsibilities- Drive the van safely and on time to various community locations.
- Register, secure, and transport participants and/or items.
- Conduct daily safety inspections of the van, including brakes, lights, and exterior.
- Maintain van cleanliness, fuel, oil, and fluid levels.
- Keep accurate vehicle logs, patient data in E.M.R, and other required documentation.
- Comply with all state, federal and local regulations.
- Coordinate and schedule routine and episodic vehicle maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED Certification (required within 90 days of employment).
- Active California driver’s license for the class required to operate the assigned vehicle.
- Valid proof of car insurance (recommended limits of $100,000).
- Preferred: 1 year of related experience.
- Safe and good driving record.
- Knowledge of the San Diego area and surrounding communities.
- Ability to drive in all types of traffic, roads, and weather conditions.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
- Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate and relate to a diverse staff and clients courteously and professionally.
