Job DescriptionThis mid‑level Fleet Mobile Technician II provides high‑quality vehicle maintenance and repairs for fleet vehicles, focusing on exceptional customer satisfaction in a cost‑effective manner. The Technician works independently or in a team, reporting to the Area Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspect vehicles for mechanical deficiencies; perform light repairs as required.
- Based on certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance, including OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune‑ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, state safety inspections, interior/exterior components, engine, and drive‑line components.
- Maintain and repair equipment such as cable trailers and laptop docking stations.
- Keep the shop area clean and tidy; perform work in accordance with safety standards and dispose of all fluids safely.
- Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records; up‑fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
- Perform complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, and fabrication.
- Coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs; perform roadside assistance as needed.
- Design and fabricate custom equipment, including moderate welding.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic systems, generators, electrical systems, hybrids, and onboard computer systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
- Minimum of 4 ASE certifications preferred.
- Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
- Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb routinely.
- Vision requirements: close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Must comply with DOT regulations, including background screening and physical/medical card requirements.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license; must obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
Hourly pay range: $29.09–$43.61 per hour. Base rate may vary by location and candidate qualifications. Position may be eligible for additional commission or incentive compensation.
