Fleet Auto Maintenance Tech II – Level: DOT Management Level – Individual Contributor –

specified Cox location – Shift: Day – Flexible Work Option – No remote option – Travel: 0% – Compensation: $29.09–$43.61/hour.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, transmission flush, and vehicle inspections.
  • Conduct light repairs and major repairs as required.
  • Perform OBD II diagnostics, brake component work, tire changes, tune‑ups, suspension work, aerial lift maintenance, electrical system troubleshooting, State Safety Inspections, and other mechanical work.
  • Maintain and repair equipment such as cable trailers and laptop docking stations.
  • Keep shop area clean, dispose of fluids safely, and maintain accurate vehicle history records.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics, fabrication, welding tasks, and complex system troubleshooting (hydraulic, generators, electrical, hybrid, onboard computer systems).
  • Conduct roadside assistance as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs to assure prompt service.
  • Assist with equipment design and moderate fabrication tasks as required.
  • Complete additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years of related experience; a higher degree or certification is acceptable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 ASE certifications preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform required movements.
Requirements
  • Must successfully complete a DOT regulated pre‑employment background check and DOT physical.
  • Must have a current DOT medical card with more than four months remaining, or provide a DOT physical if card is less than four months.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment drug test;
    Cox does not administer a marijuana test.
