Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Position Summary

Summary:

The Financial Investigator follows the hospitals and department's mission to meet its objectives in maximizing reimbursement for services provided and ensuring timely cash flow. He/she also strives to facilitate patients and/or their families with payments and assist them with financial hardship in the most cost-effective means possible. The Financial Investigator provides office support to service providers and patients by ensuring an understanding, and obtaining, all requirements for patient treatments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:
Education Required

• Must complete in-house orientation program

• High school diploma

Experience And Skills

• Speaks, reads and writes English

• 2 years billing/financial counseling experience preferred

• Knowledge of insurance benefits, claims, and the authorization process. Ability to handle high volume of telephone calls regarding billing inquiries

• Knowledge of computerized health information management system for medical records

License/Certifications
