Customer Service Representative – Manufacturing Odenton, Maryland

Our client, a precision plastics manufacturer, has an immediate need for an experienced Customer Service Representative
, to join their winning team in Odenton.

Our candidate of choice will support sales, production, and logistics by managing customer communications, processing orders, and ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment in a polyurethane manufacturing environment. You will be highly organized, responsive, and competent in delivering excellent customer service while managing orders, inquiries, and internal coordination with production and scheduling teams.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone and email and solely responsible for customer service operations.
  • Provide order status updates, pricing information, and delivery timelines
  • Communicate lead times, pricing, delivery dates, and backorders
  • Resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently
  • Coordinate with production, scheduling, shipping, and sales teams to ensure customer needs are met
  • Resolve issues related to shipping errors, damaged goods, or delays
  • Process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner; know when to escalate customer issues in a timely manner to the right resource.
  • Process returns, credits, and customer complaints as needed
  • Maintain accurate customer records and documentation
  • Follow established procedures while identifying opportunities to improve customer experience
Qualifications
  • Ensure effective use of ERP Dashboard information
  • Provide forecasting and backlog input based on current and new customer base activity
  • Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer service processes, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy
  • High School or Associate’s Degree
  • 2-3 years of progressive customer service experience
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of responsiveness and attention to detail
  • Competence using CRM systems, ERP software, or order management tools
  • Professional demeanor and customer-focused mindset
