Our client, a precision plastics manufacturer, has an immediate need for an experienced Customer Service Representative
, to join their winning team in Odenton.
Our candidate of choice will support sales, production, and logistics by managing customer communications, processing orders, and ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment in a polyurethane manufacturing environment. You will be highly organized, responsive, and competent in delivering excellent customer service while managing orders, inquiries, and internal coordination with production and scheduling teams.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone and email and solely responsible for customer service operations.
- Provide order status updates, pricing information, and delivery timelines
- Communicate lead times, pricing, delivery dates, and backorders
- Resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently
- Coordinate with production, scheduling, shipping, and sales teams to ensure customer needs are met
- Resolve issues related to shipping errors, damaged goods, or delays
- Process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner; know when to escalate customer issues in a timely manner to the right resource.
- Process returns, credits, and customer complaints as needed
- Maintain accurate customer records and documentation
- Follow established procedures while identifying opportunities to improve customer experience
- Ensure effective use of ERP Dashboard information
- Provide forecasting and backlog input based on current and new customer base activity
- Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer service processes, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy
- High School or Associate’s Degree
- 2-3 years of progressive customer service experience
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of responsiveness and attention to detail
- Competence using CRM systems, ERP software, or order management tools
- Professional demeanor and customer-focused mindset
