Description
The Digital group at Leidos has a career opening for a Journeyman System Administrator on a DISA contract. This role is primarily on the customer site at Ft Meade, MD. The Administrator will provide support for assigned systems supporting Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS).
Primary Responsibilities- Provide mid-level skillset for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
- Provide support for ticket escalation on major outages.
- Be able to work in a rapid paced environment at times.
- Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements.
- Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments as needed.
- Interact with Tier III support and evaluate vendor products.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Apply security settings and other commercial best practices.
- Provide coaching and review the work of lower-level technical staff.
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of overall related experience with a Windows/Linux server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Windows, Linux, and Solaris Server experience with expertise in at least one.
- Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware and VDI practices.
- Currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI is required for this position.
- Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II, e.g., Security+ CE.
- Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.
- Candidates with thorough knowledge of networking principles to include TCP/IP a plus.
- Experience with a ticketing system such as Service Now.
- ITIL v3 Foundation certified.
