Role Description The Maintenance Technician role at TGM is a full-time, on-site position based in Odenton, MD. This role is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on building systems, equipment, and apartment units, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs. Day-to-day tasks include responding to maintenance requests, diagnosing issues, completing work orders, and documenting all work performed in a timely and accurate manner.
The Maintenance Technician also conducts regular property inspections, performs preventive maintenance, and helps ensure that all common areas, grounds, and facilities are clean, safe, and in good working order. The position collaborates closely with property management, vendors, and fellow maintenance team members to support resident satisfaction, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance, with the ability to work safely with building systems and tools.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Maintenance & Repair to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance, including scheduling and completing routine inspections and service to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- General knowledge of building trades such as basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, manuals, safety procedures, and manufacturer specifications.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, colleagues, and vendors.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical or vocational training and certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA, electrical) are a plus.
- Prior experience as a maintenance technician in residential, multifamily, or commercial properties is preferred but not required for highly motivated candidates with
