Warehouse Order Picker/Packer (Part Time Seasonal)

Odenton, MD
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (flexible hours)

• Assist in the production of book fairs by packing metal cases, boxes, and displays with book and non‑book product according to corporate process and procedure.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards for packing all components and sub‑components.
• Ensure all outbound cases, boxes, and displays are clean, safe, and in good condition.
• Process returned book fairs by unpacking metal cases, boxes, and displays.
• Monitor inventory levels to support appropriate packing of book fairs.
• Use a scanner for item inquiries and replenishment requests.
• Pick and pack customer reorders and complete Labor Data Collection Cards.
• Keep work area neat, clean, safe, and organized.
• Perform seasonal inventory production‑line resets and assist in Fair Finishing and Assembly functions.
• Assist in physical inventory counts and in conducting Customer Appreciation Warehouse Sale Events.
• Operate motorized pallet jacks after completing the SBF power equipment training program.
• Maintain attendance, punctuality, and a courteous relationship with co‑workers and customers.
• Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or injuries to supervisor or manager.

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
• Basic product scanner proficiency with minimal errors.
• Strong team player who can get along with co‑workers.
• Good verbal, written, and basic math communication skills.
• Ability to read documents in English such as safety rules and operating instructions.

• Lifting boxes up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Lifting boxes up to 30 lbs to a height of 70” occasionally.
• Pushing wheeled cases up to 300 lbs with an initial force of 50 lbs and sustained force of 30 lbs.
• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and occasional sitting or climbing.
• Tolerating work in a non‑air‑conditioned environment.
• Using hands to carry, feel, reach, and handle items.
• Application of precise hand eye coordination for detailed assembly processes.
• Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, with ability to adjust focus.
