Reports to: Vice President of Contracts and Risk

Position: Full time

Schedule: 8AM to 5PM Monday - Friday

Job Summary :
We are looking for an experienced and highly analytical Contracts Specialist to join our Contracts and Risk Management Department. This professional will play a key role in reviewing and analyzing construction and procurement contracts, identifying risks, and supporting the development of effective mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate will be capable of interfacing with internal and external legal teams, consultants, and project stakeholders, while providing strategic insight to support executive decision-making.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Review, interpret, and provide analysis on construction contracts, equipment and material supply agreements, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Identify contractual and operational risks and develop clear, structured risk analyses and mitigation strategies.
  • Support contract negotiations by identifying key commercial and legal exposures and providing risk-based recommendations.
  • Act as a liaison with legal teams, consultants, and counter parties to ensure contract terms are well understood and risks are appropriately managed.
  • Prepare briefing documents, summaries, and presentations for senior management, highlighting key contractual and risk-related findings.
  • Provide direct support to the Vice President of Contracts & Risk, contributing to strategic planning, decision-making, and departmental initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree, PMP certification, or equivalent experience in contract management or risk analysis is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in contract review, negotiation, and risk assessment, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and analyze complex construction contracts, supply agreements, and subcontracts.
  • Proven experience in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning, including the ability to develop structured risk analyses and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with legal advisors, external counsel, and counter parties.
  • Capable of articulating findings and recommendations in a clear, concise, and professional manner, both in writing and in meetings with executives and stakeholders.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., Power BI, Teams, SharePoint) for reporting and collaboration.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to visit active construction sites and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
