Primary PurposePlan, coordinate, and manage construction projects and facility improvements with district and non‑district personnel. Responsibilities include programming, pre‑planning, project development, budgeting, project design, development of construction documents, plans and specifications, bidding process, contract execution, construction management, and contract compliance for construction projects.
This position is funded through bond funding and contingent upon available bond funding.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Clear and valid Texas driver’s license.
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Knowledge of project planning and construction principles.
- Ability to use G‑Suite and Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to analyze and organize complex data.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to conduct on‑site inspections of all district facilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and initiatives at once.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience:
3 years project management experience.
K‑12 or Higher Ed experience preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties- Manage multiple bond projects with district and campus staff, architects and engineers, and Project Advisory Team (PAT).
- Handle A/E contract management, programming, pre-planning, project development, budgeting, project design, development of construction documents, plans and specifications, bidding process, contract execution, construction management, and contract compliance for multiple large construction projects.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings with district and campus staff, architects and engineers, and PAT.
- Coordinate and manage project budget and design phase of multiple projects; manage scope of work for each project and finalize construction documents against District’s Design and Construction Standards and Educational Specifications.
- Schedule and coordinate construction proposal process; review and evaluate proposals for scope of work and compliance with construction documents and established budget.
- Assist in recommending general contractor and project cost for contract assignment to the Board of Trustees.
- Manage and coordinate all construction activities, enforce contract document compliance, budgets, and all construction-related documentation, close‑out documents, and warranty information.
- Effectively monitor budget and report construction progress and schedule to district and campus staff and project advisory teams.
- Assist in maintaining construction progress schedules.
- Participate in on‑site inspections of construction projects to ensure conformance with construction documents, programs, and needs.
- Track warranty expiration dates and conduct final warranty checks prior to end of warranty periods. Oversee warranty correction work.
Responsible for supervising construction projects, however position does not supervise other employees.
Tools/Equipment UsedStandard office equipment including computer and peripherals; small hand tools; ladder; mechanical and electrical testing equipment; small truck or van.

Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $85,035 to $119,870 Per Year
