In this role, you will manage project safety and health issues to protect employees, contractors, clients, and the public. You will evaluate and coordinate project activities to ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in safety pre‑planning and hazard analysis for a project with the project superintendent.
  • Initiate and monitor project drug screening procedures.
  • Conduct safety orientation and training for all employees and contract partners upon arrival on site.
  • Perform all necessary safety training for an assigned project.
  • Enforce the Haskell Company Code of Safe Practice throughout the project.
  • Support the project superintendent in safety efforts, providing inspection and correction audits on a daily basis.
  • Maintain follow‑up procedures to ensure all items identified are corrected in a timely manner.
  • If a hazard is identified as imminent danger, stop operations and protect others, then contact the project superintendent for immediate correction.
  • Verify training for those involved in the generation of the hazard.
  • Communicate with the assigned Regional Safety Supervisor on all project safety issues and perform monthly Safety Evaluation Reports with assistance from the RSS.
  • Participate in pre‑construction and subcontractor meetings to discuss or review safety‑related issues prior to commencement of work.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings with all project employees.
  • Enforce safety rules per established disciplinary action guidelines.
  • Maintain required employee training records and all project safety documentation.
  • Administer all record‑keeping and reporting guidelines as required by regulatory agencies and company policies.
  • Conduct accident investigations and assist the project superintendent in the prompt reporting of incidents or accidents.
  • Inspect and maintain safety equipment.
  • Issue confined space and hot‑work permits as required.
  • Accompany authorized outside‑entity personnel during safety inspections.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED (minimum education requirement).
  • 3–5 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience in Advanced Technology and Mission Critical Market, Manufacturing and Industrial Water environments.
  • Recognized safety certification such as STS, CSST, CSSS through BCSP or NCCER.
  • Thorough understanding and ability to enforce federal, state, local, and company regulations.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
