Essential Functions
The Apprenticeship Coordinator will lead and coordinate the Teacher Apprenticeship Program across Ector County ISD and Midland ISD. This initiative transforms current paraprofessionals into certified classroom teachers through structured on-the-job training, aligned coursework, and comprehensive supports.
The Coordinator will ensure the effective implementation of the program by supporting apprentices, aligning efforts across districts and higher education partners, building and maintaining data systems, and facilitating meaningful cohort learning experiences. This position plays a critical role in strengthening local teacher pipelines-helping paraprofessionals advance to certification, ensuring districts retain high-quality educators, and expanding equitable access to effective teaching for students.

Apprentice Support
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive tracking system to monitor enrollment, course completion, certification progress, and compensation level advancement.
* Provide individualized support to apprentices, addressing challenges related to coursework, financial aid, scheduling, or workplace issues.
* Connect apprentices with institutional, district, and community resources (e.g., tutoring, childcare, transportation, or wraparound services).
* Collect and analyze apprentice feedback and survey data to identify barriers and strengthen supports.
Monthly Cohort Design and Facilitation
* Plan and facilitate monthly apprentice cohort meetings in each ISD that integrate academic, professional, and peer learning.
* Collaborate with district leaders to ensure sessions reflect local priorities.
* Manage logistics and scheduling across partners to support coverage planning and participation.
Partner Coordination
* Serve as the primary liaison among districts, higher education institutions, workforce partners, and CREW.
* Ensure alignment between coursework, on-the-job training, and monthly cohort sessions.
* Coordinate logistics for apprentices navigating multiple pathways (e.g., OC to UTPB transfer, direct UTPB enrollment, OC bachelor's completion plus post-baccalaureate certification).
* Support collaborative problem-solving when system barriers arise.
* Ensure all partners meet deadlines, deliverables, and reporting expectations.
* Assist partners in planning for growth of the apprenticeship in subsequent years.
Systems and Data Management
* Design and maintain tools to track apprentice progress, program performance, and Department of Labor apprenticeship requirements.
* Collect and submit accurate data for district, state, and funder reporting.
* Monitor apprentice advancement through the program's four compensation levels and identify trends that inform program improvement.
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in education, workforce development, or student support.
2. At least four years of experience supporting individuals through education, career, or credentialing pathways.
3. Demonstrated success in cross-organizational coordination and relationship management.
4. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Licensed clinical social worker
2, Experience in case management, social work, coaching, or student success roles.
3. Background in K-12 or higher education, educator preparation, or apprenticeship programs.
4. Familiarity with Department of Labor apprenticeship standards or grant-funded initiatives.
5. Bilingual/multilingual abilities (Spanish preferred).
