Position OverviewStudents – Get ahead of the game with a paid internship at the Texas Department of Transportation! Job Location Flexibility :

- Assists in writing and editing social media posts, news releases, media advisories, and other project‑related materials.
- Performs preliminary research on assignments and gathers pertinent data.
- Assists in the creation of informational slides and other materials.
- Helps update internal/external websites as needed.
- Attends meetings and events as assigned.
- Maintains files/records/logs and performs other data entry tasks as needed.
- Performs routine word processing duties; edits and proofs own work.
- Runs errands as required.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be a student in high school or another educational institution, or accepted into a college, university, or educational institution.
- Must be at least 16 years of age, a student currently enrolled in high school or any institution of higher education, including trade/vocational schools.
- Preference for communications and website content management experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- An eagerness to learn from experts across different fields.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Established skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Experience working with content management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment.
Light work: lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs.

Repetitive motion: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
