The University of Texas Permian Basin's College of Business welcomes applications for the position of Lecturer of Business Management with a focus in Data Analytics & Statistics

Salary Range

$65,000.00 depending on qualifications

Essential Functions

We seek individuals with a passion for teaching in business administration with a focus on data analytics, and statistics, both face-to-face and online, and a desire to engage students in the classroom. In addition, the University sponsors a range of developmental activities for faculty, supported by the Heimmermann Center for Engaged Teaching. Although this is a full-time teaching position, candidates are welcome to further their research by utilizing the College of Business's excellent research facilities and computational resources.

The selected candidate will engage in curriculum development, student advising, and retention efforts. There will be opportunities for summer teaching.

The successful candidate will be required to teach 24 credit hours per academic year, i.e., a total of eight courses, with expectations to teach undergraduate students. The teaching load includes one course release per semester. This course release is based on service expectations to advance the college or university. The continuation of the course release will be made with the discussion of the dean.

Here is a list of duties expected to be performed by the selected candidate:

1. The selected candidate will be expected to teach the following areas in management - data analytics, statistics, and other business-related courses.

2. Non-tenure track, full-time teaching position on a 9-month contract.

3. Lecturers are expected to teach undergraduate courses.

4. Face-to-face and online teaching interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus.

5. Teach 24 credit hours per contract year. Summer teaching opportunities are available.

6. Assist in collecting assessment data as outlined by the COB Assessment Coordinator (for SACSCOC and AACSB accreditations). Achieve appropriate student-learning outcomes in all courses taught.

7. Faculty are expected to employ sound pedagogical practices and use appropriate technology.

8. Abide by deadlines and processes for submitting grades.

9. Participate in academic advising for students and provide help to them during weekly office hours.

10. Participate in course revisions, curriculum, and program development, as assigned.

11. Work with other faculty and staff to advance the program.

12. Attend department, college, and university faculty meetings.

13. Attend convocations, commencement exercises, recruitment activities, and community meetings, as well as actively collaborate and support student success through involvement in events and clubs.

Required Qualifications

1. Master's degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, or a closely related field, from an AACSB accredited program

2. Must have a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline

Preferred Qualifications

1. Demonstrated work history of high-level communication skills and teamwork.

2. Collegiate teaching experience in business analytics, statistics, or related fields.

3. Ability to work well with students, staff, and faculty in a collegial environment.
