Job Description Experience Requirements & Qualifications- Must meet the federal Highly Qualified (HQ) requirement by having one of the following or be able to obtain HQ status within the first year of employment: an associate’s degree; at least 48 semester hours of college coursework; or a passing score on a locally approved assessment.
- Must be highly qualified as an Instructional Assistant according to Texas Education Agency guidelines.
- Proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner and relate to a variety of constituencies (administrators, parents, teachers, students, other school staff, visitors).
- Possesses good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Must possess a sense of humor.
- Ability to seamlessly use a variety of instructional technologies that advance student learning.
- Alternative qualifications acceptable as determined by the district.
- Manage student learning and classroom supporting the Distance Learning Teacher.
- Assist students in the virtual learning environment.
- Support a blended learning rotational model as indicated in daily lesson plans.
- Collaborate with Distance Learning teachers weekly to ensure seamless instruction delivery.
- Take daily attendance according to TEA student attendance accounting procedures.
- Assist students as needed.
- Provide accommodations in the classroom as required.
- Complete required documentation.
- Work with small groups of students or individually as required.
- Assist students with technology functions/issues.
- Respect the confidential nature of the classroom and refer to the Distance Learning teacher if a problem arises.
- Perform other office duties and/or tasks as designated by immediate supervisor.
- Make parent/guardian contacts as needed.
- Train students on all technology.
- Daily set up Distance Learning platforms.
- Monday through Friday, during normal business hours.
