General Summary
The Electrical Lineworker Instructor at Odessa College plays a critical role in fostering this culture. The Electrical Lineworker Instructor serves as part of the Continuing Education (CE) division, and is responsible for leading the Electrical Lineworker program to ensure every student receives quality instruction and training to prepare them to enter into and be successful in the workforce. The instructor is responsible for presenting the prepared curriculum, supervising organized skills activities, maintaining order, recording student progress, and assuring the presence of adequate supplies and equipment to conduct the program in a safe and effective manner.
Specific Position Duties
- Instruct the prepared curriculum for Electrical Lineworkers
- Ability to provide theory & climbing skills instruction
- Ability to maintain a quality program to include instruction, assessment, proper inventory and equipment, and safety.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include some nights and weekends
- Ability to manage time, projects, and resources in order to achieve program goals
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Associate’s degree or higher in the teaching discipline or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Must have a Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Minimum of three (3) years of documented work experience in the field to include competencies, skills, and knowledge in Electrical Line work
