NOTE:
This position is subject to change with the opening of the ATLAS campus for the school year.
Supervises: Teachers, Administrative Assistant at NTO and Administrative Assistant at the Frost Technical Center
Primary
Purpose:
The Dean of Career & Technical Education Campuses provides administrative supervision and oversight for Career Technical Education (CTE) instructional programs at the Ag Farm, Frost CTE Center, CTE programs at New Tech Odessa, Sewell Auto Tech and ATLAS CTE Center. Provides leadership in teaching excellence and student learning with the goal of student success and continuous improvement of CTE programs.
Manages, coordinates, develops, and executes a variety of projects related to CTE and related programs. Responsible for all administrative, academic, and fiscal matters of assigned programs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s Degree from accredited university.
- TEA (Texas Education Agency) Administrator Certification (required).
- Professional experience related to Career and Technical Education programs.
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Special Knowledge
Skills:
- Ability to analyze, monitor, and ensure the accuracy of campus-level College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) indicators and taking action to improve student outcomes and campus performance.
- Manage and lead professional learning opportunities
- Effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- 5 years' successful teaching experience required.
- Knowledge of and success in implementation of current Career and Technical Education instructional practices and assessments.
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Instructional leadership of CTE instructional programs at the Ag Farm, Frost CTE Center, CTE programs at New Tech Odessa, ATLAS CTE Center and Sewell Auto Tech.
- Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate.
- Organize bus transportation in collaboration with the Transportation Department to bus students from their home campus to the assigned CTE campus.
- Promote a positive, caring climate for learning.
- Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed, and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.
- Conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.
- Coordinate and/or conduct Professional Development programs for all educational stakeholders within ECISD.
- Conduct TTESS (Texas Teacher Evaluation & Support System) walk-through observations of CTE staff, as required.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, families, staff, campus and district leaders, community partners, and other stakeholders through ongoing collaboration, conferences, and engagement.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job related skills.
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend, actively participate in, and contribute to faculty, campus, district, and other organizational meetings, committees, teams, professional learning opportunities, and collaborative activities as assigned or needed to support organizational goals and student success.
- Handle any disciplinary issues that may arise.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Career and Technical Education.
