DescriptionTyton Power is seeking a specialized Safety Manager to lead and administrate company safety and compliance programs. This role will be based out of our Odessa, TX facility with a provided office but will require travel to field work sites across the Permian Basin multiple days per week.
Someone who will demonstrate deep electrical knowledge as an experienced electrician or lineman, have experience in administrating and implementing safety programs in the oilfield, and have a passion for ensuring that every person returns home safely after every work day.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all safety and compliance programs in cooperation with the operations management team and the engineering team.
- Develop, adjust, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs tailored to oilfield generator operations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, industry, client, and company safety requirements.
- Conduct field visits to all company Permian Basin work sites to ensure compliance, identify hazards, and correct deficiencies.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and hazards; recommend and track corrective actions.
- Monitor, audit, and mandate proper personal protective equipment use for all field employees.
- Stop any field operation immediately if unsafe behaviors or conditions are detected.
- Design, deploy, and verify safety fixes to stop recurring operational incidents.
- Conduct hands-on safety orientations and field briefings for technicians.
- Provide safety training, coaching, and support to employees.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in all operations.
- Advise on best practices for site design, layout, and operation.
- Demonstrate initiative and a self-starting attitude in seeking out improvements to company operations.
- Report to and communicate with the Operations Manager via phone daily.
- Communicate professionally and clearly, through written and oral channels, with internal and external personnel.
- Maintain all compliance logs, incident reports, and state mandated safety records.
- Update and maintain company safety ratings inside client portals like ISNetworld, Veriforce etc.
Qualifications (Required)
- At least 5 years of experience in an oilfield electrical role.
- Experience administrating or implementing oilfield safety programs.
- A history of thorough adherence to safety regulations and policies.
- Valid driver's license with an approvable driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screening.
- Minimum 24 years of age.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in an oilfield electrical role.
- Formal safety certifications.
- Experience with generator power systems or microgrids.
- Experience as a company electrical construction representative.
- Experience with high-voltage electrical systems or as a lineman.
- A current or previous journeyman or master electrician license.
- A current or previous journeyman lineman license.
- Fluency in Spanish.
