Your Impact
The Advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician in the PEARCE Renewables Operations and Maintenance division performs tasks involving operations and maintenance (O&M) and physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy projects throughout the United States. These are local sites – candidates should reside within 50 miles of Odessa, Texas.
Core Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person and under properly performed LOTO conditions.
- Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
- Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
- Act as a team member to support site work which could include supervising field work onsite focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Core Experience
- 2‑4+ years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components is required.
- 2‑4+ years of renewable energy experience is preferred.
- A commitment to safety and attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions.
- Post‑secondary education is preferred.
- Electrical certifications are preferred such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA
70E. - Excellent written and verbal skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external requirements is required.
- Candidates residing in the Odessa, Texas area preferred.
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license for at least a year.
- Work possible rotating shifts.
- Prolong standing and working in ergonomic challenging positions.
- Varied climates based upon locations.
Compensation: $30.00‑$42.00 hourly/DOE
