Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Required duties depend upon the particular field requiring skills for advancement.
- Assisting/performing troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
- Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
- Perform clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor
- Utilizes/operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all electronic control systems and computers
- Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work
- Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE
- Understanding core networking concepts: IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and switching
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as: MODBUS TCP, DNP3, OPC
- Ability to read and interpret network diagrams
- Familiarity with thin client architecture
- Knowledge of how SCADA, DCS, and PLC systems can be integrated
- Basic understanding of NERC CIP requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience
- All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position. POSS / MASS exams are administered on an as-needed basis by Human Resources and provided during the application process.
- Satisfactory completion of Tier 1 job performance measures composed of basic:
Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument and Controls - High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Demonstrate standard computer based skills
- Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
- If applicable, candidate must meet the requirement of PT1-E
- Progression of skill within primary skill set.
- Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 job performance measures predominately composed of Sign-offs of demonstrating different primary and auxiliary system operations and maintenance relevant to primary skill.
- Demonstrate continual self improvement in job skills and knowledge.
