Flight Paramedic
Location: Odessa, TX.
Compensation: Starting hourly range of $21.34-$40.99 depending on experience. Annual area stipend of $12,500. Schedule requires two 24‑hour shifts per week. Company pays for crew housing while on shift.
Responsibilities- Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified timeframe.
- Perform daily base checks, including narcotic count.
- Provide pre‑hospital and intra‑hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility, maintaining thorough documentation.
- Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
- Track and document required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
- Be knowledgeable in the use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
- Function as a medical flight member.
- Attend pre‑mission briefings and mission debriefings, completing necessary documentation.
- Assist in pre‑mission liftoff checklist and provide pilot assistance as needed (radio, navigation, visual observation).
- Adhere to safety standards to ensure self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment safety prior to liftoff.
- Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
- Fill open or vacant shifts within the assigned area as directed by the Regional Director.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a 911 or critical care setting.
- Current EMT‑P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certification required before flight status.
- Flight Paramedic‑Certified (FP‑C) required within 24 months from hire date.
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
- NREMT‑P certification may be required in the assigned area.
