Job Summary
The Banquet Bartender is responsible for providing the highest quality service to guests and servers and maintaining the Company standards of cleanliness and sanitation while following the requirements of the Beverage Department.
Education & Experience- Minimum of 2 years of bar tending experience in a hotel or a related field required.
- Must have a valid Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Certification (at start date).
- Valid Texas Food Handler's Certification (at start date).
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Must be effective in handlingproblems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be effective at listeningto, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers andguests.
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic mathfunctions.
- Must maintain composure andobjectivity under pressure.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance incompliance with The Company's standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards).
- Always comply with The Company'sstandards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Comply with certification requirements as applicable to the position including TABC, Food Handlers, Safety, etc.
- Always maintain a friendly andwarm demeanor.
- Set up the bar according to hotel standards and Banquet Event Order to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
- Prepare beverages and cocktailsaccording to the hotel's mixing and presentation standards.
- Serve guests with all beveragerequirements in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Break down a bar after the completion of functions, Store liquor, supplies, and equipment according to the hotel's standards.
- Follow all state liquor laws.
- Know hotel services and facilities.
- Abide by all hotel policies andsafety rules.
- Follow prescribed procedures inserving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests.
- Respond to guests' problems,complaints, and accidents.
- Be familiar with all fire exitlocations and fire extinguisher locations and know how to operate them.
- Employees must always be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees.
- Ensure that the bar and serviceareas are kept clean and tidy during service.
- Attend meetings as required bymanagement.
- Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
