Job Title: Computer Technician

Primary

Purpose:

Computer Technicians provide on-site hardware and software support for ECISD’s desktop and mobile computer systems and electronic devices.

Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited HS or GED Program
• Degrees and certifications preferred, not required.

Special Knowledge

• Logical troubleshooting skills.
• Leadership abilities and/or experience.
• Ability to be self-sufficient and self-taught.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to work well in a fast paced environment.
• Customer service skills.
• Knowledge of computer systems, software, and networks, including Microsoft operating systems, software, and networks.
• Knowledge of software installation and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of computer peripherals, including printer installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to multitask.

Experience:

• 2 years of experience in computer support or related field.

• Provide customer service and support.
• Troubleshoot computer hardware, replace parts, set up and move systems and printers as required.
• Install and troubleshoot computer software and operating systems.
• Image / OS deployment; interactive whiteboard support.
• Projector support and routine maintenance. Basic network troubleshooting and support.
• Work documentation and inventory, records keeping.
• Teamwork, participation in projects as required.
• Verbal and written communication with IT personnel and ECISD staff. Identify and provide solutions based on staff input.
• Any and all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district wide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.

Full-Time

Salary: $184 to $256.80 Per Day
