Operations Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior executive responsible for the operational performance, scalability, and execution discipline of Odessa Separator Inc (OSI). This role owns the operating engine of the business and ensures that strategy is translated into consistent, high-quality results across manufacturing operations.
The COO establishes the systems, standards, and operating cadence required for the organization to perform predictably and s executive removes friction from the business, clarifies decision-making, and ensures accountability is embedded in the operating model rather than dependent on individual effort or leadership proximity. The COO serves as the CEO’s primary partner in building a disciplined, execution-driven organization.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Translate CEO and ownership strategy into executable operating plans, priorities, and performance expectations
- Establish enterprise-level operating cadence, decision rights, and escalation frameworks
- Ensure faster, clearer decision-making across the organization without unnecessary executive involvement
- Serve as the integrator of strategy, execution, and accountability
- Lead manufacturing operations with ownership of throughput, quality, safety, delivery, and cost performance
- Standardize production processes, operating procedures, and execution standards across the organization
- Identify inefficiencies and friction points that limit speed, clarity, and throughput
- Lead root cause analysis for systemic operational issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on execution reliability and scalability
- Make difficult decisions when required and ensure follow-through
- Ensure consistent performance across shifts, teams, and leaders
- Eliminate variability and dependency on individual performers
- Establish enterprise KPIs, scorecards, and performance dashboards
- Hold leaders accountable through consistent, objective performance management
- Replace reactive problem-solving with disciplined systems and standards
- Ensure accountability is role-based and system-driven, not personality-driven
- Partner closely with Finance on capacity planning, cost control, and operational forecasting
- Collaborate with HR to ensure leadership capability, role clarity, and performance expectations
- Align operations with Sales commitments and customer delivery expectations
- Ensure safety and quality are embedded in operational execution
- Primarily shop floor environment with exposure to manufacturing equipment, moderate noise, and materials handling.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting parts or materials up to 50 lbs.
- 10+ years of manufacturing or plant operations management experience, preferably in oilfield services, machining, or related industries
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, process improvement, and quality assurance
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams
- Experience with ERP systems, production scheduling tools, and data analysis
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing & Six Sigma
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, tolerances, and measurement tools
- Familiarity with ISO or similar quality management systems
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to precision
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
