General Summary

The Odessa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is seeking an energetic, creative, and motivated student to support the Chamber’s marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts.

This position offers hands‑on experience in digital marketing, social media, event planning, business communications, and nonprofit operations. Students will have the opportunity to develop professional skills while working alongside local business and community leaders. Although employed through Odessa College’s Financial Aid Department as part of the Federal Work‑Study Program, the student will report directly to the Odessa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and work on‑site under Chamber leadership.

This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing degrees or careers in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Entrepreneurship, or related fields.

Specific Position Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with creating and distributing digital newsletters and email communications.
• Develop engaging content for social media platforms, websites, and other digital channels.
• Help promote Chamber events, programs, and member initiatives.
• Monitor and respond to general email inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist with planning, preparing for, and working Chamber events, meetings, and networking activities.
• Create basic graphics, flyers, or promotional materials using design software or online platforms.
• Help maintain organized digital files, membership information, and marketing materials.
• Conduct basic research to support Chamber programs and community initiatives.
• Provide excellent customer service to Chamber members, partners, and visitors.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of Chamber operations.

• Up to 19 hours per week based on Federal Work‑Study eligibility and departmental needs.
• Flexible scheduling around the student’s academic coursework.
• Some evening or special event hours may be required.

• Eligible for the Federal Work‑Study Program through Odessa College.
• Currently enrolled as an Odessa College student.
• Interest in marketing, social media, business, communications, public relations, or entrepreneurship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
