As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in the Level-III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas, you will play a crucial role in providing advanced care to critically ill newborns. Working in collaboration with attending physicians, you will manage and oversee the care of patients in a high-acuity setting. Your responsibilities will include educating and supporting families through difficult diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
You will be expected to perform advanced neonatal procedures, interpret diagnostic tests, order necessary treatments, and coordinate safe discharge planning and follow-up care. Your role will involve attending high-risk deliveries and transports for high acuity patients.
In addition to providing direct patient care, you will have the opportunity to mentor and teach students and residents, as well as participate in teaching programs.
- Graduated from an approved accredited nursing program.
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate nursing specialty from an approved certification program as recognized by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners. Recognition by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advance Practitioner.
