American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring NRP, STABLE certification, and prior travel nursing experience.

Requirements
  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required; PALS certification preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and UAC/UVC management
  • Experience administering neonatal medications including vasopressors, antibiotics, anti-seizure medications, steroids, and surfactants
  • Proficient in respiratory support including CPAP, HFNC, high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and ventilator management
  • Experience with therapeutic hypothermia, phototherapy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
  • Skilled in APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, developmental care, and patient/family teaching
  • Cerner charting experience required
Responsibilities
  • Works in a High Risk Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • Cares for neonates ranging from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
  • Maintains a 1:3 patient ratio
  • Attends high risk deliveries and provides Mother/Baby and Pediatric care as needed
  • Utilizes Cerner charting system, experience preferred
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Provide comprehensive care for critically ill neonates including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and infectious disease management
  • Assist with high risk deliveries and procedures such as lumbar punctures
  • Support breastfeeding and manage feedings via bottle, breast, or gavage
  • Perform sepsis work-ups and manage isolation precautions/PPE
  • Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
  • Local candidates are not accepted
