DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of L&D and travel experience along with NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certifications.
Details- Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting
- Facility performs 100-300 births per month
- Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
- Alternating 36/48 hour schedule or straight 36 hours considered
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Cerner charting experience preferred
Actual start date is typically 3-4 weeks from time the offer is received. Start dates are determined based on facility needs and credentialing requirements.
Requirements- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, STABLE
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
- Skilled in labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and high-risk delivery assistance
- Experience with IV therapy, central line maintenance, and administration of blood products
- Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other L&D medication administration
- Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Perform fetal monitoring including internal and external EFM, IUPC placement, and spiral electrode placement
- Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries, including circulating and recovery care
- Care for antepartum and high-risk antepartum patients, including NST and OCT testing
- Provide postpartum care including hemorrhage management, cesarean recovery, and lactation support
- Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and infant identification
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
