Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2+ years of experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC/TCAR certification required within 30 days of starting
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with central line, arterial line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and thrombolytic agents
• Experience with ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP, and airway management
• Experience with post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac surgery care
• Experience with pacemakers, TAVR, and sheath removal/TR Band care preferred
• Neurological skills such as craniotomy, EVD, and post-TPA care preferred

• Support a newly opened PCU that anticipates ICU-level patients
• Care for MS/Tele, PCU, and/or critical care patients, with floating to these areas during low census
• MS/Tele patient ratio 6:1;
  Critical Care ratio 2:1
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Provide direct patient care across MS/Tele, PCU, and critical care areas as needed based on census
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
• Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be submitted for consideration
