American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Requirements
  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the ER profession required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Resume required for consideration
  • RTO required at time of consideration
Responsibilities
  • Work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric populations
  • 1:4 patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule (4x12 hours), alternating 36/48 hour weeks on mids schedule, with 48-hour weeks also considered
  • 12 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) required per contract
  • Cerner charting system experience preferred
  • Handles shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
  • Provides cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
  • Manages respiratory emergencies including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, chest tubes, intubation, and ABG interpretation
  • Administers IV vasopressors, emergency medications, and procedural sedation
  • Manages neurological emergencies including CVA, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
  • Treats psychiatric presentations including acute psychosis, overdose, and suicidal patients
  • Provides comprehensive emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, trauma, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic presentations
  • Performs triage and manages patients under isolation precautions with proper PPE
  • Applies and manages splints for orthopedic cases
  • Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with a positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
  • Local candidates within 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position
