Job Overview

The Account Executive – Uniforms works to strategically target potential customers to generate and grow new business in Vestis’s Uniforms Division. Responsibilities include prospecting, cold calling, setting appointments with prospects, presenting programs and solutions, and meeting a sales quota. The role includes developing relationships with customers, qualifying leads within the territory, generating revenue and market share, and meeting sales targets. The incumbent also positions the Company’s value proposition and whole-product solution to the customer, building strong customer relationships and becoming a trusted business partner.

The incumbent must possess strong business and market sense, successfully prospect an assigned sales territory, and report on related marketing activities by conducting competitive analysis and other sales‑related research.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Develop a customer base by using a systematic business development process to identify new prospects and cultivate relationships through product materials and cold calling.
  • Develop and qualify leads within the territory to drive sales opportunities through lead generation campaigns.
  • Proactively initiate action with target customers by finding creative methods to establish and maintain customer engagement.
  • Secure a high number of first appointments with target customers’ decision makers.
  • Maintain an appropriate prospect funnel ratio, including new prospect list opportunities, calendar of first appointments, and percentages of closed business.
  • Follow through with all selling activities to maximize close ratio.
  • Demonstrate strong closing skills and the ability to persuade.
  • Manage target selling and strategic selling.
  • Build and enhance strong customer relationships with multiple key decision makers, including political influencers.
  • Conduct presentations to formally communicate current and future customer benefits.
  • Ensure 100% customer satisfaction and loyalty by utilizing all resources, tools, and technology provided.
  • Proactively address and solve potential issues before they become problems.
  • Conduct competitive market analysis of existing territory, customer types, and competitive products.
  • Possess a proven track record as a master prospector.
  • Prepare informative presentations, investigate and research possible new prospect customers, monitor existing customers, and manage time and sales results.
  • Use the Company’s proprietary sales force automation software to manage daily sales activities.
  • Communicate with appropriate parties in other segments of the Company to ensure effective collaboration and shared sales opportunities.
  • Update the manager weekly with prospect information and status of movement in the prospecting stages and next actions.
  • Use a scheduling system to ensure effective use of time and keep customer appointments.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries.
  • Work independently and manage the territory.
  • Adapt to organizational changes as necessary, remaining flexible and productive while focusing on sales goals.

Decision Making
  • Focus sales efforts within a geographical territory in coordination with and under the leadership of the manager.
  • Individualize a plan for each territory and decide on the proper focus areas to attain sales goals within the Uniforms Division.
  • Demonstrate the ability to discern when a strategic pivot is needed.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
  • Proven success in developing new business and generating sales leads by managing a territory and sales activities.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving ability, crafting win‑win solutions, and negotiating with emphasis on closing the sale.
