Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Service Manager to develop an efficient work and travel schedule, prioritizing customer needs based on location and parts availability.
- Bring necessary tools and parts to perform repair work typically on customer sites.
- Document and relay essential information to the Service Manager about customer details, machine issues, work duration, mileage, and more to ensure accurate billing.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on generator sets, including fluid changes, system inspections, load bank testing, and testing of automatic transfer switches, while completing all required paperwork.
- Enhance your technical skills through company-sponsored training, annual department meetings, and self-study of technical materials.
- Uphold the company's image by maintaining a neat appearance and ensuring the service truck is clean and organized.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Proficiency in using a multimeter.
- Must possess personal tools required for the job.
- Solid computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers.
- Professional attitude with a focus on customer service.
- Capability to engage in physical activities such as bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to stay overnight for out-of-town assignments when necessary.
- Availability to participate in on-call rotation 24/7 as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record approved by the corporate insurance carrier.
- Must be DOT certifiable (minimum age of 21 years for certification).
- Hands-on experience with diesel and/or gas engines, including servicing and repairs.
- Basic electrical experience and knowledge of wiring, including reading diagrams and performing electrical component installations and repairs for both AC and DC.
