Journeyman Plumber – City of Odessa – Building Services Department
The City of Odessa is seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to repair, maintain, and install plumbing systems across City-owned facilities. This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations of our buildings and requires availability for 24-hour on-call support.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in City facilities
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance
- Maintain accurate service and equipment records
- Apply for and finalize plumbing permits
- Respond to emergency situations as needed
- Support departmental operations with reliability and professionalism
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of plumbing installation and maintenance experience
- Valid Texas State Driver’s License
- Texas State Journeyman Plumber License (required)
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Safe and skilled use of plumbing tools and equipment
- Knowledge of hazards and proper safety precautions
- Must pass an FBI criminal background fingerprint check (CJIS standards)
- City-approved safety shoes required
