The Shop Hand is a full-time, on-site role based in Odessa, TX, supporting daily shop operations and field readiness. Responsibilities include cleaning, assembling, disassembling, and organizing oilfield tools and equipment, as well as assisting with inspections, basic measurements, and quality checks. The Shop Hand will help load and unload trucks, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and ensure tools are properly stored, labeled, and prepared for jobs.
The role may involve operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment (with proper training), following work orders, and supporting technicians and supervisors with general labor tasks. This position requires adherence to safety procedures, clear communication with team members, and reliable attendance.
- Hands‑on mechanical aptitude, including basic tool use, equipment handling, and willingness to learn oilfield tool assembly and disassembly.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, standing, and working in varying weather conditions in a shop and yard environment.
- Strong attention to detail, including accurate labeling, organizing inventory, and following written and verbal instructions safely and consistently.
- Teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, technicians, and drivers, and to report issues or safety concerns promptly.
- Basic math and measurement skills to support inspections, quality checks, and documentation of tools and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior shop, warehouse, or oilfield experience is beneficial but not required.
- Comfort with safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE); commitment to a safety‑first mindset.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Odessa, TX shop; forklift or equipment operation experience is a plus.
