• Perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose the cause of malfunction.
• Complete all work according to applicable safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
• Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time‑clocking procedures.
• Document work performed on the repair order and document test procedures/results.
• Maintain an inventory of normal mechanic tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels, punches, and other non‑special tools).
• Return special tools to the proper location.
• Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
• Keep an organized and clean workspace; perform stall cleaning each day.
• Ensure that customers’ vehicles are returned clean and ready.
• Complete mandatory training programs.
• Acquire and maintain mandatory manufacturer and ASE certifications.
• Participate in and utilize mandatory technical training as assigned by management.
• Review mandatory technical bulletins and publications as assigned by management.
• Communicate constructively with dealership personnel to satisfy customer needs.
• Report any safety or integrity concerns to management.
• Adhere to personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards (clean gray work shirts, creased gray trousers; shirts must be tucked; belts must not have buckles that could scratch vehicle paint).
• Arrive at work, take mandatory breaks, and depart at designated times.

• Competency as demonstrated by completed manufacturer training and the ability to perform repairs in the following areas without supervision:
  • Lube and Maintenance Services
  • Engine Repair
  • Automatic Transmission
  • Manual Drive Train Repair
  • Suspension/Steering Repair
  • Brake Repair
  • Electrical/Electrical Systems Repair
  • Hybrid/Alternative Fuels
  • Heating and A/C Repair
  • Engine Drivability Diagnosis and Repair (Optional)
• Certification requirements:
  • Manufacturer certified in all above areas.
  • Minimum of 6 ASE certifications (preferably ASE Master Technician).
• Must hold an appropriate smog license or state emissions certification as required.
• Customer Pay proficiency level greater than 115% of Customer Pay Repairs.
• Five or more years of automotive technical experience preferred.
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
