Overview
Responsibilities for a Heavy Machinery Landfill Operator include the following:
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, compactors, and excavators to move, compress, and cover waste in a landfill.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, reporting any defects or repairs.
- Ensure safety compliance by adhering to safety policies and procedures, and monitoring waste for unacceptable materials.
- Maintain cleanliness of the landfill and equipment, and ensure proper waste disposal practices.
- Possess relevant qualifications, such as a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience operating heavy equipment.
