Position SummaryPro-Tek Field Services is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Powerline Operator to join our industrial construction team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of overhead and underground power distribution systems supporting industrial facilities, oil & gas operations, and utility infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience working around energized electrical systems, heavy equipment, and construction environments while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power distribution systems.
- Operate equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and other utility construction equipment.
- Set poles, install crossarms, transformers, insulators, conductors, anchors, and guy wires.
- Perform conductor stringing, sagging, tensioning, and splicing.
- Assist with powerline construction projects for industrial and commercial facilities.
- Read and interpret blueprints, staking sheets, construction drawings, and work orders.
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on tools and equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical distribution issues and assist with system repairs.
- Safely work around energized electrical equipment while following OSHA and company safety standards.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete required documentation.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and customers.
- Travel to various job sites as required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in powerline construction, utility work, or industrial electrical projects preferred.
- Ability to operate utility construction equipment safely.
- Knowledge of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
- Ability to read construction drawings and job specifications.
- Basic understanding of electrical safety practices.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb poles, ladders, and work at heights.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel when required.
- Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred)
- Bucket Truck Certification (preferred)
- H2S Clear (preferred)
- Safeland PEC Basic Orientation (preferred)
