Position SummaryPRISMECS is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to support the operation and maintenance of a temporary diesel power plant project in Odessa, Texas.
The successful candidate will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical failures, and support emergency repairs involving diesel generators and auxiliary equipment. Direct, hands-on experience maintaining Volvo diesel engines is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel generators.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical problems involving cooling, lubrication, fuel, air-intake, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct routine inspections, servicing, component replacements, and equipment overhauls.
- Troubleshoot diesel-engine performance and reliability problems.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and support emergency maintenance activities.
- Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective-action implementation.
- Inspect equipment for leaks, abnormal temperatures, vibration, unusual sounds, wear, and other operating problems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and service records.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with the Site O&M Lead and Field Operators.
- Follow HSE, lockout/tagout, permit-to-work, and site safety procedures.
- Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in diesel power plants.
- Direct, hands-on maintenance experience with Volvo diesel engines is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of diesel-engine maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
- Experience maintaining cooling, lubrication, fuel, air-intake, and exhaust systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment failures.
- Ability to interpret equipment manuals, technical documents, and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to respond to emergency breakdowns and urgent plant requirements.
- Ability to work onsite in Odessa, Texas.
- Must already be legally authorized to work in the United States.

- Previous experience with temporary or mobile power plants.
- Volvo or other relevant OEM training.
- Experience supporting plant commissioning or startup activities.
