We are seeking an experienced Pressure Relief Valve Technician to inspect, test, repair, calibrate, and certify pressure relief valves in industrial environments. This role includes shop work, field service, and mobile PRV testing campaigns using a specialized testing trailer.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with valve testing and calibration equipment, and knowledge of applicable ASME and API standards.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, disassemble, clean, repair, reassemble, and test pressure relief valves.
- Perform set-pressure, seat-leakage, calibration, and functional testing.
- Troubleshoot valve failures, leakage, and mechanical performance issues.
- Identify required repairs, replacement parts, and recommended corrective actions.
- Complete valve certifications and detailed service reports.
- Document as-found conditions, repairs performed, parts used, and final test results.
- Participate in shop repairs, field service calls, and mobile PRV testing campaigns.
- Communicate technical findings and repair recommendations to customers and internal teams.
- Maintain assigned tools, testing equipment, and service documentation.
- Follow all safety, quality, ASME, API, and customer-site requirements.
- Technical education or at least two years of hands-on experience with pressure relief valves, safety relief valves, control valves, or related industrial equipment.
- Direct experience inspecting, testing, repairing, or calibrating pressure relief valves.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of applicable ASME and API standards.
- Experience using valve testing, pressure-testing, and calibration equipment.
- Ability to read technical specifications and repair procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a repair team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime, weekends, or extended hours when needed.
- Experience in oil and gas, refining, chemical, petrochemical, or power generation environments.
- Technical degree or specialized industrial maintenance training.
- Experience supporting onsite or mobile PRV testing campaigns.
- Precision millwright, instrumentation, or industrial electrical experience.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb, kneel, reach, push, pull, and work on ladders or stairways.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and industrial conditions.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
