Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Service Technician with experience supporting mission-critical environments, specifically data centers. In this role, the day-to-day will involve maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems that ensure optimal temperature, humidity, and airflow conditions for sensitive equipment. This position exists to protect the uptime and performance of high-availability facilities, working closely with facility teams, engineers, and vendors to coordinate repairs and upgrades.
The ideal candidate understands the urgency and precision required in mission-critical settings and is comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with rigorous documentation and safety compliance.
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial and industrial HVAC systems within data center environments
- Service and maintain CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, and associated controls systems
- Monitor and respond to system alarms, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid issue resolution
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related HVAC issues
- Maintain proper airflow, temperature, and humidity levels in accordance with data center standards
- Coordinate repairs and upgrades with facility teams, engineers, and vendors
- Accurately document service activities, maintenance logs, and system performance
- Follow all safety procedures, compliance standards, and operational protocols
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service support as needed
- 5+ years of HVAC service experience required; 10+ years strongly preferred
- Experience in commercial or industrial environments (data center experience strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and controls systems
- Experience working in mission-critical or high-uptime environments highly desirable
- EPA Certification (required)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or similar environments
- Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems) and EMS platforms
- Electrical and controls troubleshooting experience
- OEM certifications (Liebert, Trane, Carrier, etc.)
No formal degree specified; relevant technical/trade certification and hands-on experience prioritized.
