Are you experienced in construction and ready to level up your career? Join the City of Odessa as a Building Codes Inspector and help make sure homes and buildings are safe and up to code!
What You’ll Do:- Inspect buildings, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and gas systems
- Make sure work follows city codes and state laws
- Talk with contractors, builders, and property owners
- Write reports and keep digital records
- Help enforce safety rules and city ordinances
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years in residential or commercial construction
- Strong knowledge in at least one trade (like plumbing, electrical, or HVAC)
- Willingness to get inspection licenses and cross-train in other trades
