** General Information/Job Summary
** The DOT Truck Drivers will transport heavy equipment (forklifts, boom lifts, dozers, blades, and excavators) to and from locations, in and around major areas of oil and gas industry facilities.
** Responsibilities/Competencies
*** Transport equipment or material to customer locations using a variety of different trailers. (Floats, step decks, lowboys, van trailer, etc.).
* Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and fellow employees.
* Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
* Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
* Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Maintaining paperwork is a must.
* Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as Saulsbury’s policies and procedures.
* Collect and verify delivery instructions.
* Report defects, accidents, and violations.
* Other duties as assigned.
** Requirements
* ** Proven work experience as a truck driver.
* Hands on experience with heavy equipment for loading and unloading. procedures.
* Capable of driving long hours (60-70 hrs. weekly), the majority of driving is performed locally.
* Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
* Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
* Valid Class A CDL license.
* Heavy haul experience is preferred.
* 4 years of experience.
* ** Must meet all DOT requirements.
**** Safety Requirements
*** On a continual basis, promotes an awareness of environmental, health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment and ensures compliance with all accompany policies
* Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drug program.
* Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
* Attends safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.
* Attends various training classes as may be assigned by management.
* Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
* Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work.
** Physical Requirements
*** Manual and finger dexterity.
* Eye-hand coordination.
* Depth perception.
* Ability to see things clearly that are beyond arm’s reach. (Far visual acuity)
* Ability to see small detail.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to stand for long periods of time.
* Ability to reach above the head while sitting or standing.
* Ability to reach below knees while standing.
* Ability to stoop or kneel.
* Ability to work at heights.
