Role Mission
The Bus Driver is responsible for transporting students over scheduled routes to and from a variety of school sites and ensuring the safety of all passengers, including special education students, while operating the assigned bus.
Employee receives general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures and is responsible for keeping the bus in safe operating condition.
Compensation- Hourly rate ranging from $22.64 for 0 years of experience to $26.02.
- Eligible for a performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment.
- Paid Family Leave: up to 8 weeks for birth or adoption, based on tenure.
- Tuition Reimbursement: up to 50% of tuition, max $5,250 per year.
- Employer-Paid Mental/Behavioral Health: 5 face‑to‑face counseling sessions per year, unlimited 24/7 telephonic counseling, and other work‑life services at no cost.

- Potential relocation allowance if applicable.
- GED or high school diploma.
- Experience operating large passenger vehicles or equivalent experience and training; ability to manage student behavior.
- Valid CDL with class P and S endorsements.
- Completed bus driver safety training course.
- Over 21 years old.
- Pass alcohol and drug tests.
- DOT physical examination.
- Drive school bus safely in accordance with schedules, transporting students to and from homes, school sites, and field trips.
- Maintain order and discipline of passengers; resolve disputes and document or report severe disciplinary cases.
- Conduct daily safety and operational inspection of the vehicle.
- Oversee loading and unloading; ensure safety belts are fastened; release students to authorized individuals.
- Maintain records of mileage, routing, maintenance, and time schedules.
- Notify appropriate individuals of any delays on scheduled routes.
- Keep credentials (CDL, medical card, region one) updated per DOT and IDEA policy.
- Maintain open communication with campus managers.
- Accept both positive and negative feedback and reflect on performance to improve operations.
- Prioritize tasks and adapt to changing circumstances; handle multiple tasks simultaneously within time constraints.
- Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed; minimum 32 hours per week.
