Primary

Purpose:

Safely transport students to and from school and to extracurricular activities.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

* Class B CDL with proper endorsements

* State School Bus Driver Certification

* Good driving record

* Pass D.O.T. physical, pre-employment drug test, and background check

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

* Ability to safely drive a school bus in all weather and road conditions

* Ability to manage, communicate, and interact with bus students of all ages in a professional manner

Experience:

* Six years of general driving experience preferred

Major

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Operate school bus

* Maintain required records

* Report needed repairs

* Pre-trip and post trip inspections of bus

* Fuel and sweep bus as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* Manage bus riders

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district wide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
