Transportation Compliance Supervisor

Brief Description

The Transportation Compliance Supervisor ensures drivers and fleet operations meet all regulatory and company standards. This role manages training, monitors safety performance, conducts incident investigations, and enforces compliance across staff and vendors.

Detailed Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and monitor electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Conduct and document vehicle inspections, maintenance records, and DOT audits.
  • Conduct transportation incident investigations, gather and analyze relevant information, and implement appropriate corrective actions to address root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Train drivers and field personnel on DOT regulations, company transportation policies, and safety procedures.
  • Support internal and external regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Maintain compliance records for fleet vehicles, trailers, and drivers.
  • Assist with transportation risk assessments and route planning for heavy haul or oversize loads.
Job Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of FMCSA regulation and DOT compliance.
  • Excellent knowledge of operational needs around vehicle/equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • CDL-A Commercial Driver’s License with minimum of 5 years’ driving experience.
  • 3 years’ experience in a DOT compliance role.

Demonstrates the ability to make sound, accurate, and timely decisions, supported by clear reasoning and collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Skilled at providing tactful, direct, and actionable feedback, addressing interpersonal challenges and high‑stress situations constructively to promote resolution and accountability. Possesses strong knowledge of incident investigation and reporting practices, with the ability to gather and evaluate information and produce clear, thorough reports.
