Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products. Responsibilities include performing bulk and packaged deliveries, executing proper loading and unloading procedures, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards.

- Daily operation and driving of a power unit (Class 8 tractors and lower) for chemical distribution.
- Transport of HAZMAT and non-hazardous materials, both liquid and dry.
- Movements to satisfy outside delivery (customers/vendors), in‑plant movements (spotting), and inter‑company branch transfers. Types of deliveries include:
- Bulk deliveries of liquids and solid materials, including loading and offloading from trailer configurations, use of pumps, air, and other equipment to move product. Management of the entire process: transport, proper transfer and delivery, securement after completion, and all applicable paperwork.
- Packaged deliveries of materials in drums, IBCs, or other containers in liquid form; palletized material (dry or liquid) and supersacks (dry). Management of the entire process: transport, proper transfer and delivery, securement after completion, and all applicable paperwork.
- Operate a tractor, trailer, or applicable service vehicle safely and efficiently. Comply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and site‑specific rules and regulations during job performance, including safety, packaging, labeling, marking, loading/unloading, placarding, pre‑inspection, daily logs, and reporting repairs.
- Follow all Brenntag operating procedures and work instructions, and all safety policies while on a customer/vendor site.
- Certifications:
operate pallet jacks (electric or manual); if required, certified to operate a forklift and accessories; operate dock locks, dock levelers, and other equipment for material delivery/pickup. - Maintain all assigned equipment (ELDs, virtual gateways, camera systems, tracking units). Ensure equipment is clean and in good working order.
- Remain in communication with supervisor and/or dispatcher to receive delivery instructions.
- High school diploma, GED, or U.S. military experience. Prior experience in chemical delivery may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.
- Must meet all components of driver qualifications (DQ) for employment.
- Driver requirements:
- A Class "A" CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or HAZMAT endorsement (as required).
- Current DOT medical card.
- For PFT respirator requirements, no facial hair that interferes.
- Current TWIC card or proof of application in process (if location requires).
- Ability to drive a manual transmission.
- Preferred experience:
- Minimum 1 year liquid bulk hauling experience or 3 years commercial truck driving experience.
- Certification from an Accredited Commercial Driving Academy.
