The Fleet Mechanic at Resource Transport plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of Resource Transports fleet. The mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Kenworth tractors, Timpte trailers, and engines including Paccar and Cummins models. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.

Schedule:

2 weeks on, 1 week off, 12-hour shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform thorough diagnostic tests, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other components to maintain fleet performance and safety. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance services to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage and work performed, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Ensure all work complies with DOT, EPA, and company safety regulations. Assist in managing shop and mobile parts inventory to minimize downtime. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment both in the shop and in the service truck. Communicate clearly with drivers, dispatch, and leadership regarding repair status, timelines, and equipment needs.
