Warehouse Supervisor Position Purpose

Responsible for overseeing all warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations.

Warehouse Supervisor Essential Functions
  • Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
  • Plans, organizes, and participates in daily warehouse operations and activities
  • Oversees all receiving, unpacking, packing, loading, issuing, storing, and delivery of materials, supplies, or equipment
  • Supervises warehouse staff, including hiring, coaching, and continuous training
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of records and logs, and prepares reports as required
  • Operates and demonstrates the use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; ensures proper and routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Trains all warehouse staff and forklift certification
  • Observes health and safety regulations; maintains a warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
  • Ensures all monthly safety audits and required safety reports are completed
  • Establishes warehouse standards and procedures
  • Oversees stock control methods and procedures
  • Operates the forklift and other assigned vehicles and equipment
  • Processes all payable related to warehouse expenses
  • Oversees any repairs to warehouse facilities and equipment
  • Oversees cycle counts and reviews any adjustments or variances. Participates in cycle counting if necessary
  • Creates and implements processes and procedures to maximize warehouse efficiency
  • Promotes continuous employee and customer satisfaction to achieve unparalleled customer service
  • Ensures consistent and reliable on-site attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Warehouse Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Five (5) years of warehouse or related experience with a strong understanding of warehouse operations, procedures, equipment, and terminology
  • Exhibits proper methods of storing equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Understands record-keeping techniques, inventory methods, and practices
  • Exceptional Interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
  • Adept at organizing, planning, and task completion to manage a high volume of department paperwork
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applications
Warehouse Supervisor

Physical Requirements
  • Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors
  • Physically able to mount and dismount equipment continuously throughout the day
  • Adheres to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintains individual PPE in functional condition
